Stratocaster

The idea was to see if there was a market for a 'budget' version of the TeleMods style guitars.  So, this one has none of the expensive mods (like Seymour Duncan pickups, Sperzel style tuners, compensated nut and even the headstock reshape) normally associated with 'TeleMods'.  The Yamaha ERG 121 'strat' is a great value guitar so I installed the internal GK-2A as usual and then gave it a full set-up - it plays great with a low, buzz-free, action.  On testing it out, I was surprised at the sound quality of the Yamaha pickups - the humbuckers are powerful and 'edgy' and the inclusion of the single coil 'middle' pickup is a bonus, giving a lovely 'clean' sound as well.
